10 Celebs Who Gave Up Fame To Work Regular Jobs

The fact that people have varied interests makes this world a much more colorful place. But we might never know what we like the best if we don’t try different stuff. So hats off to all those people who have the courage to change their careers even after they have invested a lot of time and money in that field.
It shows true strength of character and faith in one’s self. Here we mention 10 famous artists who made a great name in the field of acting but realized later on that they are better off doing something else. Then they had the courage to follow their instinct.
1.Geena Davis: Social Activist

Actor come social activist, Geena Davis- star of Grey’s Anatomy and The Exorcist, pushed acting aside to found the Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media. Her main focus is her activism but she occasionally takes some roles on the big and small screens, much like a hobby.
2.Kevin Jonas: Entrepreneur

Who hasn’t heard of the Jonas brothers? Super cute, super-hot and super dreamy Kevin Jonas gave up acting and singing after the band The Jonas Brothers broke up.
He started contracting business and became co-CEO of a marketing company. He also had a partnership with a popular website in the form of a video-sharing app.

3.Nikki Blonsky: Cosmetologist

Nikki, who appeared in the film Hairspray and the series Huge, left acting to work at a shoe store in New York City. Later, she became a cosmetologist and started working at a hair salon. She returned briefly in 2013 in the series Smash. In 2017, she appeared in the film Dog Years.
4. Gene Hackman: Writer


In July 2004, Gene Hackman- the famous actor and winner of many awards announced his retirement from the world of stars. He and archaeologist Daniel Lenihan wrote 3 historical novels together.

5. Vanilla Ice: House Renovator

Singer of the 1990’s hit single Ice Ice Baby left singing after suffering from some personal issues. Instead he started working as a real estate agent. In 2009, he starred in the reality TV series The Vanilla Ice Project, in which he renovated homes. He also published a real estate guide on how to succeed in buying and flipping houses.
6. Hayden Christensen: Farmer

Seems like Darth Vader didn’t care much for the acting business after all. After his star wars films, he was offered a lot of opportunities but he turned them all down. He bought land in Canada and became a farmer. He also started a clothing company and a production company. In 2017 he acted in a film called First Kill.

7. Chris Owen: Photographer

He was in high demand in the 90’s and early 2000. But eventually his luck ran out along with his demand in acting. He was found working as a waiter and later on as a photographer.
8. Dylan Sprouse: Brew master

Dylan Sprouse and his twin brother Cole gained fame after movies such as Big Daddy. They even had their own TV show, The Suite Life of Zack & Cody. Now Dylan is a brewmaster in his own meadery and bar in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

9. Freddie Prinze Jr.: Chef

Actor of famous movies She’s All That and I Know What You Did Last Summer, Freddie is now a chef. Freddie tried a lot of careers and finally decided to become a chef. He is the author of a cookbook, Back to the Kitchen, in 2016
10. Jack Gleeson: Student

We all know Jack Gleeson a.k.a King Joffrey; the most hated kid in America. Maybe it was the hatred that he got after his role that he decided to be done with acting. “It was always something I did for recreation with my friends or in the summer for some fun. I enjoyed it. When you make a living from something, it changes your relationship with it. It’s not like I hate it, it’s just not what I want to do.” He will continue with his studies.
